I enjoyed this read enough, but I was pretty underwhelmed by the end. Maybe this author's writing just isn't for me, since I recall feeling a similar way about Akata Witch.
I appreciated a lot of the details - explanations of Binti's culture, descriptions of some of the technology, etc. I also generally liked Binti, the main character.
Midpoint onwards though, I had difficulty suspending my disbelief while reading this plot. Relationships that formed didn't feel natural, terrible events seemed to be magically forgiven, and all of this combined made the ending feel pretty forced to me.
