Smart Girls Get What They Want
by Sarah Strohmeyer
I found this cute book in one of the Little Free Libraries around town. I gravitate toward books about smart and powerful girls. I think these are the types of books we should want our young women to read. This book was a different sort of message though. These girls have always been smart and put grades above their social life. The book tells how they want to leave a mark on their high school for more than just their brains.
What I love most is that in their pursuit to get more social, none of the girls sacrifice their GPAs. The message here is that you don't have to dumb yourself down to be popular or to get a boyfriend. I hope many teens read this and take that message to heart. Too often we see movies and TV Shows and even books where the girl hides how smart or driven she is to get the guy. It's just not necessary!
