OMG I can't believe I've waited so long to read this!
So it starts off a bit like a Romeo and Juliet retelling (Roma Montagav and Juliette Cai are the main characters, with Marshall and Benedikt), but it is SO much better. Takes place in post-WW1 Shanghai, and there's a "disease" afoot, going after everyone. 10/10, do recommend.
Be warned - it is a part of a duology AND a greater series. And with this ending you will need to read book 2, which I shall be getting my hands on shortly.
