Iron Cast
by Destiny Soria
I do love it when I find a book that has a plot line that is totally unique.
Ada and Corinne are hemopaths, they have an affliction in their blood that causes an aversion to iron and also gives them special abilities. Corinne can makes people see things that aren't there and Ada can make people feel things they weren't previously feeling.
The story is set in the early 1900s right before prohibition and centers around illegal hemopath nightclubs and these two girls who work for one of the more powerful hemopaths in Boston.
I really liked the characters in this book. Ada and Corinne offset each other so well that neither personality was overwhelming at any time. And their friendship was fun to read about because they knew each other so well. And the best part ... no insta love! You have female main characters that are badass and bossy and get the help of men while not swooning over them the whole book. I loved it.
I would definitely pick up another book by Soria in the future, especially if she writes another one around the same time period!
