This is an 'epic quest' kind of book. It's well written and the imagery is very captivating. I think it successfully captures the atmosphere of war and starvation without being the most depressing thing of all time. It's actually pretty witty in places. A word of caution for more sensitive readers, it's pretty vulgar. It works well for the stories and the characters and is actually a bit endearing after a while but just sayin' there's some pretty graphic sexual imagery. All in all a pretty good read.
