A Heart So Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer
5.0

I was so excited to read this! I loved A Curse So Dark and Lonely, and had a feeling I’d love A Heart So Fierce and Broken as much. I was not wrong.

I was instantly invested in this sequel. I wasn’t sure where we’d be going or how the story would unfold but I was surprised immediately by events, and characters developments as well as some characters struggles.

My allegiance bounced a few times as I was frustrated with Rhen but harper was a constant saving grace for his cause.

I loved that we got to see more of Noah and Jake. Strangely enough, steering away from Rhen and Harper allowed Greys narrative to be Centred and allows us to be angry with Rhen without his internal dialogue to sway... it was interesting to cast him as an antagonist.

Lia Mara was a beautiful addition. I felt her personality was lovely and her personal struggles were well written. The blooming love didn’t feel forced and I enjoyed watching it grow.

Introduction to new characters and places made me fall I love with this series all over again.
