Easily one of my favorite reads of 2022. I absolutely loved this book and here's why.

I've read a few Meghan Quinn books, and I can now say that she has been cemented as a must read for me, and I know she won't disappoint with whatever she writes. This is no exception.

The chemistry between Keller and Lilly is out of this world. It is so palpable and it was so hot and tense and explosive but also tender and sweet and they had such a deep connection because of shared life experiences. Lilly just wanted to make Keller proud and to find a family and fit in, and Keller wanted to do his country proud and find a family too, and be loved for who he is and not his status. Because they found each other, they were able to find these things, and find love with each other. The way they supported each other and were there for each other was so wonderful. They definitely are opposites, but they complement each other so well.

This has everything you could want. Bodyguard, princess/royalty, found family, sunshine/grump, smut, insanely good banter, etc. Lilly is so freaking funny! I was literally laughing out loud multiple times. Her one liners and need to annoy Keller had me in stitches. I love her fiery personality, and the fact that she truly didn't care if she wasn't what others wanted her to be. I felt for both Keller and Lilly's tragic pasts; it was clear they were meant for each other because they just GOT each other. That third act breakup with Keller's groveling was top notch.

I love Meghan Quinn's ability to build such a rich world, with amazing secondary characters too, and a plot that doesn't fail to engage you and make you not want the book to end. Plus the smut? Out of the world HOT. Smoking. On fire. So spicy it might burn you.

This was seriously everything and I cannot recommend it enough. I cannot WAIT for the sequel!
