A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle
3.0

I have been recommended this book countless times over the years and I've always said that it wasn't for me. However, when I saw the movie trailer, I realized that I wanted to read it before the movie came out. Not only because the movie looks amazing but also because my 4th graders are going to be watching the movie and then spoilers would be in the air like dust in an attic.

I'm still trying to put my thoughts together over how I feel about this book. It was enjoyable, but it felt like something was missing from it. I had a really hard time seeing the world. I had a hard time believing in the things that were happening in the book. I needed more world building or explanation or SOMETHING more to make me invested in the story. It was almost there, but not quite.

I'm sure I will interact with this book again in my teaching career and I'm hoping that reading it with students will make the experience a better one.
