I really hate this series. I don't understand what's going on 99% of the time. Gwen is also VERY flat. I don't feel a connection to her or literally ANY character in this series. I felt this way while reading Vol. 0 and thought, "Well, maybe this is just first-volume-unsure-footing." Turns out it wasn't. Gwen has nothing going on in her life other than being Spider-Woman and even when she's Spider-Woman the quips and dialogue don't match the Peter Parker wit we've all come to know and love. Her comments are sporadic and the formatting of the text boxes representing Gwen's internal and external monologues don't do anything to lessen that disharmony. I have no reason to enjoy or sympathize with the protagonist. Hell, I would take hating her over this lack of feeling towards her. I think it's fair to say that I've given up on Spider-Gwen, which hurts me to say because we could always use more kick-ass ladies in comics. It's unfortunate that Gwen couldn't be one of them.
