This was one of my favorite books to reread when I was around 10 or 11 years old. I haven't read it since then, but I figured I'd give it another go in my now 20s and see what I thought of it as an adult.

This has got to be one of the cutest books. It reminded me of the same type of fairytale style as the movie The Princess Bride.

The characters were funny and made me smile along with them as they went about their adventure, and I loved that the story encompassed so many genres, including comedy, romance and adventure.
I absolutely loved Christian and Marigold and all the supporting characters as I thought even though they never went into detail, you could picture them just as clearly as the main two.

I love that the animals were almost personified and given a role in the book as more than just being a cute little companion.

I adored this reread and am thrilled I gave it another chance as an adult. Now I have to go find the sequel!
