I was sooo apprehensive of this book when it was announced and even after it came out but now I’ve read it...OMG...

I’m so conflicted on this book!! On the one hand it was a really interesting insight into one of the earlier Hunger Games, we learnt quite a bit about their origins and how the earlier ones were and how the decisions made surrounding the 10th Hunger Games influenced how we know them now. I’m mad because I just felt Snow’s character was so interesting and compelling and how he changed through the book...I’m mad bc I liked him!!! Suzanne Collins is a hell of a writer. I was so sure I wouldn’t like this book because it focused on young Snow but...wow...she did that...she really did that! *shakes fist* I’ll never forgive u for this!!

My one complaint is the ending was a little rushed, I could have easily read another 200/300 pages of this to see it wrapped up a bit smoother, but still 5* because it was so hard to put down!! Anyway I hope she does more prequels, there’s so much stuff I wanna know about!! I wanna know about the war! I wanna know about how Snow came into presidential power! I WANNA KNOW ABOUT THE GAMES HAYMITCH WAS IN...SO MUCH I WANT FROM THIS WORLD AND I HOPE WE GET IT!!
