The Astrology of Serial Killers - Volume 1
by Rhys Navarro
dark
fast-paced
I went into this book ready for a study on the correlation of serial killers and astrology. I have always been interested in the nature vs. nurture argument for serial killers, and a little while ago I started studying astrology, so this book sounds perfect for me. This would be an okay book for beginners, however, this book was not informative at all for me.
It gave very stereotypical and surface level views of each astrological sign and placement. Like all Cancer placements are emotional and all Taurus placements are super stubborn. It all depends on a person’s whole natal chart. The author didn’t talk about any individuality within different charts. The book just seems to show that everyone with a Scorpio moon is the same, when really a person with a Pisces sun and Scorpio moon is very different from a person with an Aries sun and Scorpio moon. As I said, it depends on the whole natal chart.
The book didn’t reveal any of the killers’ motivations. I went into the book thinking that I would get insight into why the killers could’ve possibly done what they did, but I didn’t learn anything new that I didn’t already know from the few documentaries I’ve seen about some of the killers.
I even occasionally found myself questioning if the interpretations were accurate. However, that could be because the author used the whole sign house system and I’ve always used the placidus house system.
I do think that this book would be good for people that are brand new to astrology, and who also have an interest in serial killers. I’ll give this book 2 stars instead of 1 because I know a complete novice could enjoy it. But this book wouldn’t even be informative to someone with a basic knowledge for astrology.
