The Smallest of Bones by Holly Lyn Walrath
3.0

Poetry is such a personal experience. For the author. And the reader. I liked how Holly structured this around bones. Those in between parts with the explanations and how “fragile” it is to be a woman was really powerful.

The meat in between the bones though kind of left me wanting more. There were lines I thought were beautiful but there was so much I felt was just to obscure and confusing that didn’t connect to the bones.

Again, poetry is personal and this is just how I felt reading it. I enjoyed much of it, and much of it I felt disconnected from.
