Candice Carty-Williams does a brilliant job exploring amazing female friendships and toxicity within friendships, the day-to-day “casual” racism and misogynoir that’s thrown at black women, and anxiety and mental health discussions within black families. Queenie poses age old questions that people have been grappling with: What are you doing? Why are you doing it? What do you want to be? Queenie is an inclusive novel that is political, charismatic, and hilarious. I highly recommend!
