onespaceymother 's review for:
Highland Dragon Master
by Isabel Cooper
This book is very loosely set during the Scottish war for independence, featuring a dragon shifting warrior who - I shit you not - reconnects with his first crush, a lady dragon shifter, because she’s now a pirate captain and he needs a ship and a crew. They set sail to discover treasure buried by - wait for it - the Knights Templar and find themselves shipwrecked on a possessed island. So there’s the set up. To be fair, for a book with that set up it’s better than one might think. At least well structured and evenly paced. The female lead wasn’t cringey and the guy wasn’t an asshole, which is refreshing in the world of absurd fantasy romance novels. 🤷🏻♀️
