Cat's Eye: A Novella
by Stuart Knott
9Overview: Talk about a freaky book! I loved this! First of all this is a novella so you can easily read it in one sitting (trust me you won't want to put it down). Secondly, this book is loosely connected to The Summoning (the book I co-wrote with Dr. Stuart Knott, Harriet Everend, Alice Stone and Shantel Brunton). Basically if you've read The Summoning and want to know what became of Bert the cat then read this. If you haven't read it and want to read a freaky short horror story with a cute kitty then read this!
Good Points: I enjoyed everything about this book. From the slow build of getting to know Dani and Anna to the sudden terrifying turn it takes towards the end. I think I was holding my breath at one point as I read. Stuart certainly knows how to write tense scenes with vivid imagery.
Not so Good Points: The only issue I had was that I wish it was longer because I enjoyed it so much! Bravo Stuart!
Do you like horror? Do you like cats? Do you like gripping stories that will have you on the edge of your seat? Yes? Good. Read this.
P.S. There is no animal cruelty in this story...apart from a few slugs get squished...
