The Lost Daughter
by Gill Paul
I’m definitely in my Gill Paul era! Another great listen, the author does a fabulous job and weaving fact and fiction and bringing historical characters to life. The Lost Daughter is centred on the slaughter of the Romanov family in Russia and the mystery that has shrouded the massacre ever since. Still to this day, there are those that feel the DNA evidence was insufficient to claim the whole family were killed. This book focuses on the supposed escape of Maria, and the imagined life she could have led, interweaving with a dual timeline later in the twentieth century.
