The Upside of Unrequited
by Becky Albertalli
Not quite as delightful as I remember finding Simon, but this is a sweet funny book with a relatable protagonist and cast. Except that I do kind of struggle to identify with high schoolers now, like I barely remember what my internal world was when I was that age. But I felt for Molly and her internal world was, while a little overly boy drama for my tolerance, also full of thoughts and worries about herself and change that resonated with me. There was the usual sort of big bad feeling conflict sections which I had to power through, but there was a lot of sweetness and the book felt very now and I mostly happily sped through it.
