I liked the premise of this story, and it had some really good parts to it. The characters were likable, and I really did enjoy the friends and family that I assume the other books in the series will be about. I loved having a heroine who worked for NASA and was just nerdy as can be. Even if one part did have the science teacher in my stuck on a bit of a misnomer/error. There were a lot of fun scenes and some funny lines between characters.
I did have some issues with some of the writing, though. I felt at times there was too much description. Some of the sexy stuff was a little awkward feeling. And I hated how easily Jackie would become a doormat and just assume people were talking down to her. I mean, she worked at NASA and you know not everyone there would always be so nice and perfect to her. She had to have gotten more of a backbone just from that job.
The narrators for this were good. While the other book that I remember hearing the male narrator on his voice was a bit too “old” sounding for me, in this audiobook he sounded a little different and it worked for me this time. The female narrator was good too and did the character perfectly. Although occasionally one of the friends, Trish, her accent was a little off for me, sounded all classy as opposed to country.
In the end this was a good listen, and a pretty good story even with the issues I had, and I think I’d go on in the series if I found time to listen.
