Plum Kettle has always imagined that one day she will lose hundreds of pounds. On that day she will become Alicia, the beautiful and desired, but above all, thin woman she is sure is inside of her. That is, until a chance encounter leaves her questioning everything. Meanwhile, a feminist terrorist group called Jennifer starts enacting revenge fantasies on a patriarchal society. Plum’s journey to unlearn her self-hatred and understand that she has always been Alicia was cathartic to read. I enjoyed this book a lot. There’s so much in it, I feel like I need to re-read it again to experience it all!
