Unfortunately, this novella fell flat for me. 

Whilst I enjoyed the world-building and felt that some of the themes touched on (family, community, duty, etc) were done well, overall, it just felt like I was reading the (mostly) uneventful dairy of a girl who just happened to be living in a post-climate crisis world.
