Whew, I forgot what it was like to be a boy-obsessed 15 year old and I did not like revisiting that phase through this book 🥲 Which was a mistake on my part because that’s literally what this entire book is centered on. Whoops!
But I was just invested enough in this low stakes teenage drama that the pages flew by. Overall a cute coming-of-age YA romance but lacking some depth that would push it to a higher rating for me. I did appreciate the autism and Palestinian rep, and I found Jessie quite likeable as our main character. Where I felt most disappointed is how lackluster the friendships on page appeared. Everything in this book revolves around their crushes and boys and it wasn't balanced out enough in my opinion.
