Fugitive Telemetry by Martha Wells
3.5
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes

This far into The Murderbot Diaries I don't have much to say about each entry in the series. Murderbot was as charming as always as a protagonist but little else about these books draw me in. I've become fully accustomed to Martha Well's worldbuilding at this point but nothing about the cooperate dystopian setting does much for me. The human side characters in this series blend together so I've never been drawn to the installments in the series where they are predominant in the story either.

The plot itself was neither here nor there. The murder mystery aspects were reasonably well done and I appreciated the lack of action scenes in this installment—they're always my absolutely least favourite parts of Muderbot novellas. But I wasn't all that invested in figuring out whodunnit.

I'm sure I'll keep reading The Murderbot Diaries because Murderbot is such a compelling narrator but I have to admit I don't love this series as much as its biggest fans seem to.
