A little overly simplistic, especially with sentence construction and dialogue, but I liked the story beats well enough. It’s not a new dynamic between the boys, but as far as executing that trope, it’s a heartfelt attempt that mostly lands. Doesn’t hurt that Lin Manuel narrates the story and makes a bunch of the more innocuous exchanges endearing.
