So I did enjoy this. I liked the characters a lot. Both had their own past issues. While I feel like maybe we needed a little more of Noah’s past coming back, the book was definitely long enough. In fact the length was a little bit more than I needed. But a lot of romances seem to be reaching the 500 pages or close to it these days.

There was a lot of good character development though, and world building. And I’ll be definitely eager to get some of the other characters, Noah’s teammates, or maybe Rory’s friend Harper’s stories too. Aurora, or Rory, had a lot of issues caused by her mom, really. I feel like the author did leave a few things unanswered. There was so often that she wouldn’t eat around other people, always saying she’d already ate. So I kind of expected something more from that. Maybe she wasn’t really eating? But it never really delved that far into her eating habits.

And we knew Noah had a bad past too, with his father, and while we didn’t get much about it till close to the end, there was a short bit with his father, a phone call and later a visit, that were kind of a bare minimum. And then there was a bit of stalkerish issues with his ex that I really thought I’d see more come from that to add drama then we actually ended up with.

Now it seems like I’m complaining a lot, but the romance itself was good. I liked the two characters together. I liked how they fit together once they both gave in. There was a whole lot going on in this story, and it had steamy parts too, as well as romantic, sweet parts. Rory’s brother made me mad a lot, but they did their making up, again, it was kind of off screen in a way. I wonder how much of the things that I felt were missing pieces got cut due to the already long story?

So a good book, just be prepared for a long read! Not a hard read, I’d pick it up and not want to put it down, so that is definitely a recommendation!
