Not everything has to remain the same, and not all doors have to lead somewhere.

Little My is probably at her funniest in this. No milk for our girl, just good ol' coffee and peas!

This is the only Moomin book that I always expect to be more magical and, I don't know, more summery I guess. That's not to say that it's not. I just don't personally get that feeling or love it as much as I'd like to, even though it's set during Midsummer.

Overall, it's a fun adventure during a flood. The magic of theater turns out to be more difficult to create than the Moomin family ever thought, Snufkin tries his hand as a foster father, and some of our friends end up in jail, but eventually it's time to return home. The magic of Midsummer feels like a dream when ordinary and familiar life resurfaces from under the water. It's only the beginning of summer and further adventures await!
