linyarai 's review for:
The Art of Deception
by Leonard Goldberg
I received this book from Goodreads First Reads in exchange for an honest review here and on my blog Samwise Reviews. This was a pretty solid mystery from the start; reading how Joanna figured out clues and connections in the case was very much like reading or watching Sherlock Holmes at his work. This was the fourth book in the series and I have not read the first three, so the relationship between the characters was a bit foggy at first and it took me a bit to figure out who was there and why. Otherwise this read very nicely as a standalone book, the prior novels are not necessary in following the plot. The mystery was well done and kept me wondering until the end, but I didn’t find it immensely captivating.
