A beautiful and hopeful novel about two young women (17) falling in love during a time when being gay was seen as a terrible thing. I was pleasantly surprised by the support Liza received from her parents after being outed. They may not have understood, but they didn’t try to tell her it was wrong either. There was so much that this novel touched on and I truly believe everyone should read this book. It was heartbreaking at times, but ends on a hopeful note and the audiobook has an interview with the author! The book was written in stream of consciousness, letters, and sometimes third person which did throw me sometimes, but didn’t take away from the story at all.
