lily gold remains the queen of why choose trope!!!!! the kind of thriller aspect of this made it so much more interesting to me than FWB, but i would’ve liked to see more emotional connection between briar and the boys. i feel like we couldn’t really see WHY they fell in love with each other besides from being around each other 24/7 and a damsel in distress/savior dynamic.

i adore how lily writes feminist concepts into her books, though, because i find that why choose books are often rooted in an overtly dominant dynamic.
