Cher: The Memoir, Part One
by Cher
I really thought I was gonna love this one—especially being such a big Cher fan—but it didn’t totally hit the mark for me. The audiobook is 16 hours long and only covers half her life… whew. Some of the personal stories felt like filler, and I found myself wishing for a bit more focus.
That said, getting a behind-the-scenes look at her rise to fame and her complicated dynamic with Sonny was super interesting. And honestly, the best parts were when Cher narrated herself—her voice just brings it to life in a way no one else could.
Will I read Part Two? I’m on the fence. But if you’re a die-hard Cher fan or love a good “rags to riches” story, you still might enjoy this one.
