I absolutely loved and flew through Lunar Chronicles series, so I was extremely excited to start Heartless. The book starts off well enough, but quickly became a slog. I found myself forcing my way through a lot of this book, and when I felt it got interesting it didn't last long enough. Lady Catherine and Jest are the only two characters that are interesting, but the struggle and connection between them just wasn't enough for me to be fully engaged. There are some truly good moments and sequences through out, and honestly I feel like Meyer's writing itself was up to par. I think a lot of what I didn't enjoy stems from the fact I don't care for Wonderland as a setting. I understand why many love this book, but it was just wasn't for me overall. I give it a 3 out of 5.
