Special thanks to Wattpad Books for an ARC of this book! All thoughts and opinions reflected in this review are my own.

This book is hard to review. Was it particularly good? No. The writing was fine, the plot was interesting but predictable, and the characters were interesting but not quite fully fleshed.
But was it a ton of fun to read? Hell yeah!

All across the world, vampires have come out of hiding. They’ve become the new “it” people. The media is obsessed with them. Renie’s sister was one of these avid vampire followers—so-called Vladdicts—and she signed up to be a blood donor and live with some of the vamps in their secluded mansion. Renie thinks her sister is crazy, but then June stops writing, and Renie signs up to be a donor at Belle Morte in order to uncover what happened to her sister.

Not a single twist about this book surprised me. I liked Renie, and I loved her friends, but I couldn’t get myself to care for Edmond. And the connection between him and Renie was way too forced and insta-lovey.
The book can be split into two parts based on the two big reveals. Both of which were painfully obvious. The first was a given from nothing but the fact that it is the kind of book it is. The second, though, had the potential to be interesting. If the culprit had been literally any other character, it would have been a shock. Or, even if we had gotten any form of motive or explanation I’d have been somewhat placated.

All of that aside, this book was fun. The lore around rabids was interesting and unique. There are so many different books about vampires that they all blend together, so that little tidbit really stuck out to me and I think it added a lot to the world Bella Higgin created.
Is this a literary masterpiece? Not quite. But if you’re a fan of Twilight and looking for your cheesy, predictable vampire fix, this is worth the read.
