Flowers for Algernon

I really adored some parts. It starts out very strong and ends the same way. From the middle part, I loved it when Charlie wrote about his abusive childhood. There were some parts I didn't like as much and some that made me completely zone out. I don't know if it was purposeful, but I noticed that my opinion of Charlie reflected that of people in the book. I started out wanting to protect him and feeling bad for him, which then gradually evolved into dislike the more intelligent he got, and at the end I was right back where I started.
I love the themes it explores. It really makes you reflect on what kind of a person you are and how people that are different are treated by society/how invisible they are.
Also funny side note, but for the longest time I thought this book was about a mouse. Surprisingly, very little mouse content, lol.
