I mean, giving a Harry Potter book 5 stars is sort of ridiculous and inaccurate, just as much as it's inevitable. It's impossible to separate my experience reading this for the first time as a child from my experience reading it again as an adult. There's no way for me to truly experience Harry Potter with fresh eyes or objectivity.

But I will say that this time, I realized how very unwilling I would have been to engage in any of the heroics in which Harry so frequently takes part. Crawling down a slimy tunnel into the Chamber of Secrets. Oh FUCK no. That's why I'm a Slytherin.
