In Love With My Best Friend by Sheena Binkley
3.0

A short story that made very easy reading.

The initial plotline was gripping and I found it quite direct, in that it held nothing back. Whilst I did enjoy reading it, however, I couldn't help feeling that there was something missing throughout.

Atter considering this, I've decided that it was the lack of detail. Whilst the book was fluid in the events that took place, I feel that I didn't not form enough of a picture in my mind, some more background on the characters I feel would have made them more realistic. In contrast to this I commend the narrative used. By reading through the eyes of both the main characters the reader felt an intamacy as if getting a sneak peak of their point of view on the world.

I understand it was a short story and by adding detail would have bumped this up dratlstically, I feel that by doing this (for instance revealing more background on the Camille and Trevor's younger life, and shedding more light on Trevor and Chelsea's pre-engagement relationship) it would have greatly enhanced the book.

For me personally I love the finer details in a book, as I feel this empowers my imagination, such as what the characters ate, descriptions of their surroundings, etc. Without these details I find that although gripping the story remained 2D for me.

On the whole, I think the story was enjoyable and took a no nonsense approach to getting the plotline across. I would reccomend this book to.maybe friends who don't read or get the the time to read as often.
