This is a slasher in book form, tried and tested, it works and conforms to the genre while subversive in it's ending and main character.
Honestly this should have been about 100 pages longer, the pacing is ice cold slow to wildfire fast and it doesn't help that chapter 11 onward infodumps every bit of info.
Some dumb af decisions and character thoughts are made but again it's a classic slasher I do expect it.
Too much was attempted here
it should have stuck with either the traditional bad guy in a mask OR a monster OR a secret society and not all three? It works best when you think it's a genuine monster. Also the secret society thing was stupid.
Overall however this was fine and I really liked Charity and Bezi, I bought their relationship and the ending >>>
