This is the first book I read by Cameron Johnson even if I read great reviews of this book.
I want to join the chorus of people raving about his works as I had a lot of fun in reading this brilliant book.
The heroes/antiheroes are the sort that are usually the villain of a fantasy story. They're not on the grey moral spectrum, they're definitely evil but the other guys are worse.
There's a lot of violence, gore and a lot of battles but also dark humour and laughed a lot.
The author is an excellent storyteller and I couldn't put this book down as I was engrossed.
The world building is fascinating and well developed, the characters are fleshed out and I loved/hated them.
It's one of the most original fantasy book in 2021 and can't wait to read another book by this author.
Highly recommended.
