The Sky Is Everywhere
by Jandy Nelson
Huge fan of Nelson’s writing even if the extreme second hand embarrassment makes me cringe so badly.
The way music and poetry are used all the way through to tie together each chapter is beautiful. you really get a feel for Bailey’s perspective through her sister’s poems despite her having passed away (this is a key aspect of the story)
It handles Lennie falling in love and simultaneously grieving her sister in such a gentle way that’s at the same time heartbreaking and funny.
As always, Nelson’s characters are so unique each with their own twists and traits!
