Tacet a Mortuis by Amo Jones
5.0

I absolutely love this series! I’m a great lover of YA and this is mature YA at its best.
I love the Society, and family, that has been built here.
The Kings are hot, but also kind of sweet and loving, which is a great juxtaposition.
Madison is sassy and Tate is a great balance for her.
What I loved most about this book is that we’re finally getting answers, as well as handy recaps, although I would recommend RE-reading the first books as well.

One thing that did bother me was up until about 60% through the editing was fine. A few inconsistencies but I could overlook them. Then the wheels started to fall off. I have had an issue with the editing in Amo’s previous book (I DNFed at 40%) and hope this is rectified before release.

Another thing that bothered me were some of the language choices. “dawg” and “throwing up duces” to me just didn’t fit, it seemed a bit try-hardish, as did the constant song references. They were great but I don’t think that many need to be included, shades of Drive here but nowhere near as meaningful or poignant.
Still, i loved this book and I’m glad it ended the way it did, even if there were less twists and turns that I was expecting.
