So, I watched Season one of the TV version of this series. I really did enjoy it, but then life got in the way and I found it hard to keep up with TV shows. I fully intend to pick it back up and watch the show, perhaps even more, now that I've read the book.
I like how, in addition to getting view points from characters on Earth, we also get glimpses back to the ship through Glass's chapters. I found myself feeling like I was learning more about how life was (and still is) in the space colony before the 100 came to Earth.
I was impressed with Bellamy and his relationship with Octavia. I feel like Octavia is much younger in the book than she was portrayed in the show. (From what I remember.) But overall, I appreciated his protectiveness and the strong bond he felt with her.
I did not approve of Wells or Bellamy's actions taken in order to "protect" their loved ones on Earth. Since I haven't seen most of the show, and I've forgotten specifics on the parts I did see, I'm not sure how that all compared to the show, but I was horrified by both of their decisions.
I think it was the Glass chapters that hit me the hardest though. While she didn't have the Earth issues to deal with, I feel like her situation was such an emotionally difficult thing to deal with and I physically felt her pain.
I'm eager to read the rest of the series, and eventually to sit down and binge watch the show.
