Escape Room got me hooked on Goldin’s writing and The Night Swim just confirmed that she’s now one of my favorite thriller/mystery authors.

The Night Swim was fast paced and drew me in from the start. If I didn’t have to work or sleep, I would have finished it in a day.


Rachel, the podcast host, reminded me of Sarah Koenig from Serial, which coincidentally was the podcast that got me hooked on true crime podcasts. Rachel Krall is a podcast host in town for a rape trial hoping to information for the third season of her podcast when she finds a note on her windshield asking her to look into a case from 25 years ago. The Night Swim follows Rachel as she juggles sitting in court to take notes each day of the trail for her podcast with trying to dig up details on what exactly happened to Jenny Stills 25 years ago. Was she murdered or were the cops right in saying she accidentally drowned?
