libscote 's review for:
Out of Salem
by Hal Schrieve
I didn't like this one as much as I expected to. I did like the way you slowly realize the world is different from what you thought it would be. Also, learning now that it takes place in the 90s, explains a lot about what was happening. I agree that the magical metaphors for real life were interesting, and I did like reading from both Z's and Aysel's perspectives, especially because anything from the Turkish diaspora is new to me. I think this is one I would like to re-read in not review time, because I think I read too fast for the ending to really come together for me.
