I hope you don't think I'm a snob but I don't think I have patience for books like these ever again. Pilcher obviously wanted to make the reader think about the morality of the characters but in my opinion it wasn't executed very successfully. The story was boring, I felt like laughing in some of the dialogues and the descriptions seemed very much glued on. The gap between this and my favourite novels is huge so this certainly wasn't my cup of tea.
