The Princess Companion: A Retelling of The Princess and the Pea
by Melanie Cellier
I really enjoyed this! I listened to the audiobook, and I thought it was amazing.
I personally love retellings, even though I haven't read that many yet. I just love the idea.
While I know the basics of The Princess and the Pea, I don't really remember much, so I wasn't sure what to expect when I clicked on this book. I actually thought I wasn't going to like it, but after a few minutes into the audiobook I was sure I was wrong about that.
I listen to audiobooks before I go to sleep, they relax me. And I found myself looking forward to moments where I could continue listening. (And many times I was so excited with the story that it didn't even relax me).
I absolutely adored the main character and love interest. With books, I don't easily get that 'omg I ship it feeling' with couples, as I get with shows or movies. But I definitely had that in this book.
I definitely recommend this book. I can't wait to buy a physical copy and to read the second book.
