bookbriefs 's review for:
Switched
by Amanda Hocking
I really liked this book. When I first found out it was about trolls, I was so skeptical. But it turned out really good.
I can't say im too fond of the Queen, but that is not surprising, since she is such a cold character.
I do like Wendy- she is so feisty and strong willed. I love that she does not let anyone push her around.
Unfortunately, I also really like Matt, and I was so upset when she had to leave him behind. I hope he plays a bigger role in the next two books and that things work out well for him because he is such a good guy.
And of course, I love Finn. He is so strong and moral. I want him to come and protect me. I was so sad at the end of the book, when he chose to leave because he was "looking out" for wendy and what was best for her. I cannot wait to see more interaction between Wendy and Finn in the next book.
The plot was interesting and has a good amount of mystery surrounding their world. Just enough to make you want to keep reading. I liked that I was left guessing and wanting more, but was never frustratingly confused about not knowing anything. I don't like books that leave you completely in the dark for too long, claiming they are trying to be mysterious.
Overall, this looks like it could be a very good series. There are still some loose ends to wrap up and more than enough room for more development and I am excited to see where the story goes.
