Blank Canvas by E.M. Lindsey
4.0

E.M. Lindsey forces me to practice patience. They are very good at setting up their characters and having them orbit each other and then bring them together. I like this approach because I get to know each character for days/weeks/months before they meet. Obviously I know they're going to be great together but I get to watch them do it.
The topics and disabilities that Lindsey covers are handled with care and it just makes me love their books even more.

I was interested in Sam from Free Hand and I was not disappointed in his story. Both Sam and Niko are struggling with mental, physical, and emotional battles and the way they easily slide into each others lives was nice to read. I feel like the world that Lindsey created is a great world where their characters have real problems and deal with them in real ways.
