Beautiful Exile by Catherine Cowles
5.0

Catherine Cowles never misses, and Beautiful Exile is yet another perfect example of why I devour everything she writes. Romantic suspense? Check. Small town charm? Check. Found family? Double check. Every. Single. Time. She pulls me in and refuses to let go.

Arden and Lincoln had insane chemistry, the kind that simmers beneath the surface until it finally ignites. I loved how patient and steady Linc was—he saw right through Arden’s walls and knew exactly how to show her that love and support didn’t have to come with conditions. He didn’t just fight for her; he stood for her, proving that sometimes the right person can make even the most guarded heart feel safe. Their dynamic was everything I wanted—tension, tenderness, and a love that felt earned. And Catherine writing a billionaire? Yes, please. Linc was so hot (and the money does not hurt).

And the suspense? Chef’s kiss. I should be used to Catherine Cowles keeping me on my toes, but once again, I did not guess who the villain was. The twists, the danger, the unraveling of Arden’s past—it all had me flipping pages like my life depended on it.

If you love protective MMCs, fiercely independent FMCs, small town, found family, and a story that keeps you invested from the first knife to the throat meeting (seriously, what an opening), Beautiful Exile is an absolute must read. Catherine Cowles just gets it. Every. Single. Time.
