It's time to put the cauldron on to boil. Add some water and then throw in the movie The Craft. Now we need to boil it until bland. Add some spices, in this case We Were Liars. Stir and simmer. But no too long. Then pour it into the pages that make up The Graces.

A very slow moving story about about a family everyone believes are witches. They are popular, rich, and selective. River is just the new girl in school, who crushes on Fenin, and wants to hang with Summer. But she wants something else as well. Help with a problem, help to get her father back. Typical and moody, and I saw the Fenin relationship from a mile away. When you enter part two of the book, you get smacked with the story line of We Were Liars, and everything moves really quickly, but also anti-climatic.

This book wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t special either. It is not something I will be hoarding on my shelf to re-read 100 times, or even something I would recommend to multiple people. I do have one friend who would like it, but other than that… I’m pretty sure there will be a sequel based on the last line of the book. Think of the most famous song by Bachman Turner Overdrive and you have it. I ask myself this after every book: Will I read, or do I want to read the sequel. I can honestly say, I don’t know. I think it would depend on timing. I didn’t hate this book, but I didn’t love it either. I kind of what to see if River becomes a stronger person, and if the Graces work their problems out, but I don’t NEED to know. Catch me?
