Off Base
by Sophie Jordan, Tessa Bailey
Continuing on with my Tessa Bailey binge, I loved her story in this military romance duo! A super tall, built, and sweet as hell Army master number-cruncher returns home after many years of overseas duty. He's a virgin, as his long-term and only girlfriend was determine to save herself for marriage, until she wasn't. She cheated Beck “True Blue” Collier, sending him a "Dear John" letter.
Now, Beck has no one to pick him up from the airport, no family welcome home. Enter Kenna Sutton, infamous daughter of the base's head Lt. General. Kenna may dress outrageously and is no prude, but she's been hands-off for a long time, thanks to her father.
She is immediately attracted to Beck, as he is with her, and she's determined to make this army genius get the best welcome home he's ever had. She's not anticipating Beck will want to keep her for always.
I loved that while Beck was a virgin, he was so willing to learn how to please, and so vocal. Delicious.
Sophie Jordan's story wasn't as good for me, as I didn't really like the characters. I don't like when the hero "suddenly" is attracted to a long time friend because of alcohol/convenience. Still, it was sexy and nicely tied to Bailey's tale.
