In the summer, the hippopotami like to go to the beach to show off their beautiful belly buttons. One little baby hippo learns to say "belly button". All the hippos love to have balloons, because they can imagine that balloons also have belly buttons. When night descends on the beach, the hippos all chant their belly button song together and celebrate their glorious navels. But when the winter comes, their belly buttons must hide away again.

I love the cute illustrations and the bright colors in the art. Each hippo is jolly and ludicrous and priceless fun. They wear tiny bathing suits to show off their bellies. They wear sunglasses to look cool. They eat grapes, watch the waves, and take a little nap. Adorable.
Amo las ilustraciones adorables y los colores brillantes en el arte. Cada hippo es juguetón, absurdo, y tiene diversión sin precio. Llevan trajes de baño diminutos para mostrar sus vientres. Usan gafas de sol para lucir geniales. Comen uvas, observan las olas y echan una siesta. Adorable.
I love everything about this sweet little board book, but the best thing is the dedication which says "A very serious book". Haha! Perfect.
